More About Coach Gino

Gino coaches with a strong passion, a robust sense of humor and a ceaseless commitment to making learning easy and accessible. Gino is grateful to celebrate his 10th anniversary as a tennis coach at the most beloved tennis center in all of Naples, The Arthur Allen Tennis Center. He has served on the coaching team of Seacrest Middle School and helped lead the Seacrest Varsity team to be district champions in 2018.

Gino is not only a tennis coach, but also a graduate of Chef D’Rang Culinary Arts, a wine sommelier, father of 2 beautiful kids and soon to be grandfather of a baby girl. Growing up in Italy, Gino was a sports enthusiast. He played soccer, both as a child and later became part of the army soccer and cross country teams. It wasn’t until he moved to the states in 1977 that he discovered tennis. His neighbor made a deal with him. If Gino would coach him in soccer, his neighbor would in turn teach him how to play tennis. It was a challenge. Not until his early 30’s did he developed a passion for tennis. But once he did, he was addicted. He played daily and took lesson upon lesson improving more and more over the years.

In 2001, when visiting Florida to play in a national tournament, Gino discovered and fell in love with Naples. He had a vision. He saw himself living in Naples and playing tennis at Cambier Park. Several years later he moved to Naples full time to pursue his dream with a promise to give something back to this beautiful town. His passion for tennis grew into a passion for teaching tennis and inspiring kids.  Over the years he's had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidence . He truly values the opportunity to influence young players and give them a healthy character building outlet in life. He is proud of the next generation of children and hopes that tennis will become a lifetime sport that they will continue into adulthood or even in retirement.  Thirty five years after first picking up a racquet, he is still just as enthusiastic of a player and teacher.
